Cian Murphy - Co-Convenor (College Liason)

Cian's School of Law Profile
Cian is a PhD candidate, tutoring undergraduate public law and
lecturing terrorism and counter-terrorism. He holds BCL (Hons) and LL.M
(Public Law) from University College Cork and King's College London
respectively. His research focusses on EU law, Irish and UK public law,
and human rights and counter-terrorism. His thesis is concerned with
the rule of law in the EU during the 'war on terrorism', on which he
has published widely. Cian was involved in the first IGLRC in
2007 and is President of the Graduate Legal Research Society. He is a
member of Liberty and Amnesty International. He enjoys music, movies,
travel, rock climbing and is a member of the Serpentine Running Club.
Cian has an unhealthy interest in the US Presidential election, and
elections in general.

Márton Horányi - Co-Convenor (Submissions)

Márton's School of Law Profile
Márton is a PhD
student at the Centre of European Law. In 2004 he completed his undergraduate
degree in law at the Pázmány Péter Catholic
University, Budapest. In 2005-2006 he studied for his
LL.M (European Law) at the Europa-Institut, University of Saarbrücken.
He began his research at King’s under the supervision of Professors Alexander
Türk and Margaret Bloom in Autumn 2006. He successfully completed his transfer
to the PhD register in June 2007. His research is funded by the Centre of
European Law.

Martha Sivaguru - Finance Officer

Martha's School of Law Profile
Martha is an
MPhil/PhD student who
tutors undergraduate tort law. She holds LLB (Hons) from King’s (2004) and an
LLM from UCL (2007). She was called to the Bar of England
and Wales at the Honourable
Society of the Middle Temple in 2005 and from 2005 to 2006 she worked in
the Litigation department of Allen & Gledhill (Advocates and Solicitors) in
Singapore.
Martha’s doctoral research
focuses on principles for the quantification of gain-based damages. Her
research interests lie principally in the areas of unjust enrichment, tort and
contract, and she is also interested in medical law and ethics and human
rights. Martha is a
classically trained pianist and choral singer and spends her time away from her
thesis trying to expand her jazz repertoire. She firmly believes in the power of a Pink Panther cartoon to
brighten anyone’s day and she knows how to bake the perfect brownie.

Egle's School of Law Profile
Egle Dagilyte is an MPhil/PhD student at the
King’s College Law School, holding an LLB Degree (Law and Management) from
Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania (2004) and an LLM Degree in International
and Comparative Law from Uppsala University, Sweden (2006). One of the biggest international challenges in
her life was organising a two-week International Summer School ‘War on Terror
and Human Rights’ 2006, which attracted participants and professors from 20
countries worldwide. Next to this, Egle has been involved in event organising
and marketing under ELSA and ILSA networks. When one gets to know Egle better, they find
out she plays the guitar, kankles (Lithuanian national instrument), enjoys
singing and is passionate about dance!

Eloise's School of Law Profile
Eloise is an MPhil/PhD
student. She graduated from King’s College London in 2000 with First Class
honours in her undergraduate degree in Law.
This was followed by several years spent working as a political
adviser/campaigns manager for a range of organisations from the Country
Landowner’s Association (CLA) to the London Chamber of Commerce and the British
Retail Consortium (where she launched a specific lobbying organisation for
retail in London). She then spent a couple of years at a
Government Department, where her roles included working for a Minister. Eloise began her PhD research (part-time) at
King’s in spring 2006 under the supervision of Professor Robert Blackburn.
